Chartwork and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award

Chartwork can be easily used to fulfil the Skill section of the Duke Of Edinburgh's Award scheme, whether at Bronze, Silver or Gold level. For cadets, your Chartwork instructor will be able to sign this section off following successful completion of the course. For adult staff who wish to use their time spent teaching Chartwork for their Skill, contact the ASO Chartwork who would be very pleased to sign your Record Book.

In fact, the entire Duke Of Edinburgh's Award can be completed on the water, or doing related nautical activities.

For example:

Skill: Chartwork, Powerboating, VHF radio.
Physical: Sailing, Powerboating.
Volunteering: Sea Cadets!
Expedition: Offshore expedition by sail or pulling/paddling.

For those at Gold:
Residential: Any week long offshore trips, RYA Day Skipper/Yachtmaster courses, etc.

Anyone not currently involved in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award who wishes to participate should speak to their unit Training Officer.

TS Rebel is it's own independent D of E Award Operating Authority, and can provide different sea-going activities to complete all the above sections of the Award. For any further information regarding Award opportunities available at TS Rebel, contact their D of E Award Officer, Mike Pratt (contact details in London Area Directory).
